ABOUT THE BRAND

In 1937, the Dalda brand was launched to market Vanaspati, and a factory was constructed in Sewri, in what is now Greater Mumbai. The name is a combination of Dada & Co, the original Dutch firm that introduced the product to India, and the 'L' of Hindustan Lever. Dalda was innovatively promoted.
